Our site went down as many of you know.
The billing dept and server operations were moved to India.
There was some difficulty, to say the least, in understanding these people.
They should make an effort to learn how to pronounce our words.
Maybe then we would have a chance to understand them.
They were demanding more money or we would not be online.
May 12, 2008 meeting
Walter Collins (Our retirees treasurer) said that a number of folks have not paid their dues yet.
The funds from this help to pay for our luncheon after the meetings.

As those of you who were present learned, the contract is still not settled.
We were informed that when it passes, a raise will be on our retirement checks.
We had a good crowd in attendance. It was good to see so many people.

We hope that the answers will be available at the June meeting.
No meetings during July and August. Scheduled vacation break
Joan wishes to thank those of you who have come up to the   Sunset coast
Your 801 and 798 retirement (and active employees) discount is still in effect.
There is much to see and do here
It is 5 and a half to 6 hour drive from Dayton to a nice vacation.
The distance is about 343 miles from the Union Hall.
Meet nice people and have a good time.  From Dayton to the Sunset coast

This is a "Community Service Event".
There will be Official Coast Guard servicemen working.
There will be free water safety literature & the Coast Guard is performing safety inspections free of charge.
This entire event is free and open to the public.
Participants will trailer their boats here to our parking lot for inspection.
If the watercraft passes inspection, the Coast Guard will issue the owner a certification sticker, which is good through 2008.
If the watercraft fails inspection there will not be any citations issued,
but the owners will know what they need to do to become compliant with state laws.
(if they were on the water and the craft failed inspection the owner could receive a citation).
Dayton Boat Sales will have a boat on display. Ronda of Troy will have a jet ski on display.

We had a very good turn out at the February meeting.
We didn't let let the cold weather keep us away.
It was good to see so many people.
Not all questions were answered about the pending move.
We will have to wait until all plans are completed.
It will be announced here or at the Union hall.
It depends on when the arrangements are made.

It was announced at the February meeting that Mark Profitt will be the benefits rep for Delphi retirees
Mark, as you know, was the last president at IUE Local 801
Any questions that you may have, you may call Mark toll free at 1-866-544-5901
Mark is one of three reps that will man a call center nationwide for Delphi retirees.

NOVEMBER MEETING UPDATE
President Herman Panstingel is announcing that he will not be the President next year.
It is time for our annual elections.
Herman is asking us to find a new candidate and vote for that person at our December meeting.
Nominations for all offices will be taken at the December meeting. Voting will then begin.
Newly elected office holders will asssume their post at the January 2008 meeting.
Herman will announce the winners at the January 2008 meeting.

The elected officers who are either unchallenged or retain their office will (resume) their post

Herman is asking for you to show your 2007 or 2008 membership card
at the December meeting before eating.
We had a very large crowd at the November meeting.
We expect to exceed that at the Christmas party at our DECEMBER 10, 2007 meeting.

The membership dues for 2008 are ($15). This is how we pay for the food we eat.
To those who have paid already, Thank you.
See Walter Collins (Treasurer) at the meeting to update your membership status.
Sadly, once again, we lost a few members who passed away.
More on a subject I think is of interest to most of us.
I started to mention about a   PROMINENT LOUSIANA NEUROSURGEON   at the November meeting.
I subscribe to his reports due to his integrity. The research he has presented and benefits are invaluable.

I now receive these monthly. He provides the back issues with a new subscription.
One newsletter I found of great interest among so many of his,
was entitled 5 things they don't teach doctors.

These news letters or reports, date back to the middle of 2004.
My one great regret is that I did not subscribe much sooner.
There is an old adage, better late than never.

If your health is important to you, and I know it is, this is my personal recommendation.
It is that you not only subscribe to these, but read them as time permits.
Highlight areas of concern to you and your loved ones.

Suggested storage procedure:

  • NOTE:This just a suggestion to help folks who do not know how to do this

  • Make a folder on your computer desktop

Right click on the desktop (computer screen) (not on any symbol or icon)
Wait for the fly out menu to appear.
Move your mouse controlled pointer down to the word New
Wait for another fly out menu to appear.
Move your pointer to Folder and click on it.
Start typing "REPORTS" or whatever you wish.
You can rename this folder later if you wish.

  • Open up this folder and make a new folder for each year beginning with 2004
  • When you download each report, place it into the appropriate folder.
Make one for every year up to and including 2008

  • I would encourage you to make a listing of each report title in Notepad
  • If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, please read on:

  • Inside your folder called "REPORT" Right Click on a blank area
  • Wait for the fly out menu to appear
  • Place your mouse controlled pointer on New
  • Slide it down inside the fly out menu to the word Text Document
    Then click on it

  • I suggest naming it Listings
  • Type in the name of each report for later reference
Or to read it more conveniently after having printed it out.
I hope this may have been helpful to some of you.

MEMBERS VACATION SPECIAL Temporary posting here
I have become more acutely aware in recent years that herbs carry significant health benefits.
A research doctor at a NY Heart clinic made a major discovery.

Several days ago, I bought a new plant to put in my garden. It is in an herb category.
I started wondering if there was anything of unusual benefit that I could use from this.
I did some online research. I was stunned at what I learned. My conclusion?
I personally believe this plant is of great value to each and every one of us.

In the course of our lives, we have absorbed metals that do great harm.
Dr. Yoshiaki Omura from the Heart Disease Research Foundation, New York, NY accidentally discovered this plant helped dramatically to flush these from our systems.

The side effects from some of these metals are short (and long) term memory loss.
Diabetes is one among a number of health problems gaining relief.

In the mix, we find Alzheimer’s and in some cases, herpes.
I am placing links below here for your pursuit and decisions about this.
I will move this to the web sites of interest page in a month or so.

Many of you have heard me bring up the matter of blueberries in casual conversation. The gains to ones overall health from this lowly fruit should not be ignored.
When this link opens, click in a plain area of the web page. (Not on a photo)
Hold down one of your Ctrl keys and touch the letter F key. Let go of both.

EMPLOYERS THAT HIRED MEXICANS ARRESTED
SPRINGBORO, OH STRUGGLES WITH MEXICAN PROBLEMS

Old fashioned ideas made a lot of sense
This was submitted by a number of our members
Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.

But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...

There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.

We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

When you enter your code at a store for your credit card or debit card, glance around.
See if anyone is trying to watch what you are "punching" in.

My wife was in a local store recently. I was a liitle way off and noticed this.
A fellow who appeared to be Mexican was very interested in what she was doing.
He looked over her shoulder as she entered the code for her credit purchase.

I was outraged. I kept a sharp eye on this creep. When I stepped up beside her, he took off.
I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH: STAY ALERT FOLKS       This isn't the 1950's anymore.

I just received this report

ACLU STRIKES AGAIN

We are facing another show down with the Anti American Civil Liberties Union again.
ACLU is going after a town in Texas for outlawing property rentals to outlaws from Mexico

The ACLU has no shame in attacking America's interests. They are disgusting.
Our country is being wrecked by the ACLU and our politicians who don't care.

The ACLU is targeting law enforcement officials. They obviously intend to disrupt any law enforcement targeting illegal aliens (criminals from Mexico) in the US.

Who is going to protect the job rights of American workers from these criminals?

Maybe the ACLU should start a new branch, the MCLU (Mexican Criminal Liberties Union).
Since Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones started targeting illegal immigrants (criminals) from Mexico, the ACLU has hit the fan again.
Why should decent, hard working Americans be surprised?
Warren County Commissioners Mike Kilburn, Pat South and Dave Young are afraid that the illegal immigrants (Mexican criminals) will run for cover into Warren County.
(obviously seeking to escape from justice)

Why do I call them criminals?   They didn't come here by applying for citizenship.
They broke into our national house to steal our jobs!

They are taking Union jobs for "peanuts". You think I am kidding?
Construction workers, highway workers for private contractors are among many jobs vanishing into the cesspool filled by "illegal immigrants".
Where does it stop? Do we roll over and let our politicians "stick it to us" ?

If you have a weak heart   don't read this.
FBI Director Robert Mueller, in a House Appropriations Committee hearing said he was aware that individuals from countries with known Al Qaeda ties had entered the U.S. under false identities.
Both parties are leaving us vulnerable

If you rob a bank, Are you an illegal?     If you sell cocaine, Are you an illegal?
If you murder someone, Are you an illegal?     If you rape someone, Are you an illegal?
When the economy eventually goes down (as it does in cycles), then what happens?

Please check this out yourself!      Chilling facts the ACLU doesn't want you to know!

Our families and American jobs are not safe     Mexican Illegals and the Terrorist connection

If we, the American people (and the American workers) had any backbone, we would jump on

Request rom Del Baldwin:
Chavez is starting to feel the loss of revenue from his holdings. He OWNS CITGO
This is a very important move that everyone should be aware.
Announced just recently, Citgo, being aware that sales are down due to US customers not wanting to buy from "Chavez", have started to change the name of some of their stores, to:
"Petro Express"

DO NOT BUY FROM "PETRO EXPRESS"
"PETRO EXPRESS" IS ALSO 100% OWNED BY "CHAVEZ"

Hugo Chavez insulted
  • our president
  • our country
  • our military
  • our history

He said we are a curse on the planet and that we endanger the very survival of humankind. He said that the countries of the world must unite against us. He hates the United States and everything about us. Except our money, of course. Our money makes him rich. And it gives him the power to spread anti-American hatred around the globe. His entire regime is built on American money.

So I think we should stop giving it to him. I think it has become the patriotic duty of all Americans to avoid sending another dime into Hugo Chavez's particular Third World hellhole. He has called us his enemy. That makes him our enemy. And we don't do business with our enemies.

We boycott them.

Remember this word: Citgo. That's the brand of gasoline you will never buy again. That's the brand of gasoline you will talk your friends into never buying again. Because Citgo equals Chavez and Chavez equals hatred of America. And it's time for real Americans to stop buying Citgo.

Here's the background:

Hugo Chavez is the dictator of Venezuela. Venezuela would be just another crap-in-a-hole banana farm if it weren't for oil. Oil that is brought to the American market by the Venezuelan government through its subsidiary, Citgo gasoline.

The predecessor to Citgo was started in America by an American in 1910. It took the name Citgo in 1965, and was bought by Occidental Petroleum in 1982. Occidental was a company most noted for its ties to the Soviet Union and Al Gore's dad. Occidental turned around the next year and sold Citgo to the company that owns the 7-11 convenience stores. So far, so good.

But it turned dirty in 1986 when the convenience store company sold half of Citgo to something called Petroleos de Venezuela. In 1990, Petroleos de Venezuela bought the other half and owned Citgo lock, stock and barrel.

What is Petroleos de Venezuela? It is the Venezuelan government. It is not a private company, it is a nationalized industry, much like the industries of Cuba, the Soviet Union and other communist countries.
So Citgo is Petroleos de Venezuela, and Petroleos de Venezuela is Venezuela, and Venezuela is Hugo Chavez, and Hugo Chavez is our enemy.

Therefore Citgo is our enemy.
And every dollar you spend on Citgo gasoline is a dollar that cuts America's throat. I'm not saying that, Hugo Chavez is saying that. At the United Nations and at the conference of unaligned nations, Hugo Chavez said Venezuela would support and lead those nations that wanted to rise up against the United States.

That means he's going to bankroll the people who hate you and your country.
Or rather, that means he's going to use your gas money to bankroll the people who hate you and your country.   (If you keep buying Citgo gasoline.)

So let's draw the line. Let the Citgo boycott begin now. And let it end when Hugo Chavez is rotting in hell. Anything less is first cousin to treason.

Some will complain that Americans distribute Citgo gasoline and will be hurt by a boycott. Others will say that Americans own and are employed by the convenience stores and gas stations that sell Citgo gasoline and that they also will be hurt by a boycott.

Tough luck.

I know many fine people who make their living from Citgo gasoline, and I will be sorry if this boycott hurts them. But I owe my country first, and must be loyal to it before I am loyal to my friends. There are other brands of gasoline, and I will gladly go back to familiar convenience stores and gas stations when they begin carrying a brand of gasoline that doesn't enrich a regime that threatens the safety and freedom of my children.

This isn't a Republican issue or a Democratic issue, this is an American issue. Hugo Chavez has gotten up and told us what he thinks of us. He has told us by his words and deeds that he hates us and that he wants to tear us down. He is our enemy. And I will not give aid and comfort to the enemy. I will not buy Citgo gasoline. And you must not either.

Together we must tell as many people as we can. We must use the power of free speech and the power of the free market to kick this little tyrant where it counts.

We must change our habits if we are accustomed to buying Citgo gasoline. We must find new service stations and convenience stores. We must change our ways.

Or this man is going to bury us with our own money. He is going to use the wealth we give him to buy the knife that slits our throats and destroys our country.

Be an American, boycott Citgo.

Thank you,
Del Baldwin A retired member of Local 801

RETIREES UPDATE FROM GM
MESSAGE TO 801 RETIREES
Please consider this: From Mary Davis Secretary Truck and Bus Retirees

I stumbled onto this while watching Dish network recently . I wish to share it with you
It is available on Dish network at channel number 265 and Direct TV on channel 455
I found this to be very interesting. It is coming from Red China.
Please note: Their time is 12 hours past that of ours.   CCTV9 HOME PAGE

Their line up of interest to me was:     PROGRAMMING AND SCHEDULES
NEWS PROGRAMS
Biz China     China Today     Dialogue     News Hour     World Wide Watch

FEATURED PROGRAMS
Center Stage     Culture Express     Travelogue     Travel in Chinese

Among some interesting things I have seen are:
  • New cars rolling out of a GM factory in Red China.
This bunch was being exported to Chile
  • Technological breakthroughs in industry and medicine
  • Musical programming that was very good
  • Some however were not, due to cultural differences

  • A CCTV news crew was in Venezuela filming an event.

That event was President Chavez joyously expressing his hatred of the USA
He was filmed holding hands with the President of Iran
Don't ask me to type in his name. I can't spell it so I won't try

The Iranian President was warmly greeted in Venezuela
The Iranian President promised to build:
    • 10,000 new homes for people in Venezuela
    • New factories to make gunpowder in Venezuela
    • Steel producing plants in Venezuela
    • New cars in Venezuela
    • Weapons factories in Venezuela
    • Provide help for the oil industry in Venezuela
(Their oil is low quality. It is tough to refine)
The Chinese at this point do not have the technology to do it

I don't think our newscasters have shown what their game plan is.

Congress returns first week of September 2006

They will consider giving away $50 Billion of your tax money
This will go for welfare to Illegal Aliens!       (   If it passes!  )

Ted Kennedy & John McCain are fighting to do it!
Who . . . . . . is going to pay for it?

Auto workers in Ohio, Michigan, New York and the midwest are facing difficult times. If we are going to fork up this dough, why not invest that instead for legal American citizens who can't afford health care?

Why not invest some of that in American citizens who have trouble heating their homes in winter? A number of them are elderly and helped build this nation. Their tax dollars were part of it too.

There are American citizens who, through no fault of their own are having trouble feeding their children. Are we supposed to be made fools to pay for criminals breaking into our country?

The Congressional Budget Office just revealed the shocking welfare costs of the Kennedy-McCain Amnesty for Illegal Aliens. $50 Billion

The Senate passed this once already, but House leaders are balking.
Should the House leaders give in?

It is your money brothers and sisters! We are taxpayers.
Do these two guys have our interests at heart?
You decide that.

Sound off !   Send an E mail fax to your US representative
Our September meeting:
We will be getting a review of our present situation.
We will be provided with the latest news as well.
Bring pencil and paper for questions you may have.
Herman says another Local has an idea we should consider.

We all know that people around the area visit our web site.
Most of them are local. We do get some international traffic too.
This can well be something to think about.

The idea is to set up what I prefer to call an "Online Service Directory"

The Directory would provide access to reasonably priced help. It would let our members get the benefit of skills our other members possess.

Another option is this:
Perhaps you have a hobby and build things in your home work shop.
You may be involved in arts and crafts. This could be useful also.
The ideas can be quite varied. It could provide a little extra income.

It could provide some good deals for our members.

That directory would exist in the form of a new page on our web site.

It would cover handymen, electricians, painters, plumbers, or what ever legitimate skills you can do to earn some extra money.

This directory would list our retirees members offering their services.
(Possibly folks from other area locals might participate as well)

Individuals would provide their names, what they have to offer, and contact information.

We prefer that if you are insured, licensed or whatever, that you would include this information too.

This would help making decisions easier for our viewers.

This page to be established would contain:
The name and contact method chosen by the participants.

We recommend that any deals made should be in writing.
This could eliminate a "can of worms" later.

We will be seeking input from you,
our members, at the September meeting about this.
A MESSAGE TO YOU FROM A FAMOUS AMERICAN
Turn sound on

It has been brought to my attention that not everyone received the update.
GM will notify us of pending information by way of personal e mail.

This is information they feel retirees from the GM divisions of Frigidaire, Delco Aire, Harrison Radiator, (Or under the GM program at Delphi Harrison and Delphi Thermal) should know.
To register and get your updates:   Click here
Estimates for a single mailing to each retiree is about $111, 000 for postage.
Remember, our represented divisions, when they were all under the banner of Frigidare, had at one time 19,000 + active employees. This was quoted recently in the local newspaper.
We are the retired members represented by Local 801 from one of these various divisions.

Many people across the valley say they retired from GM. I guess they are ashamed to say I retired from Frigidaire or Harrison Radiator. I am not.

I was glad to have worked there among so many fine people.
Decades of my life were invested with those of you I knew and worked among.
A message from Mary Davis
Secretary of Truck and Bus Retirees
PROJECT LINUS was named after the adorable security blanket toting character from the "Peanuts" comic strip. Creator Charles Schultz was aware of the efforts done by this organization. He was delighted to have Linus inspire blanket makers to help children in need. They make new homes and blankets for sick and traumatized children.

Mary has engaged in this project to help these kids.
She made the quilt that was auctioned off. See photo below.
Those funds will be given to the Project Linus for needy children fund.

The Harley Davidson Quilt Mary made was assembled from T-shirts incorporating logos of 15 different states and Canada woven into it.
The size is 102 x 127 (inches)

The winner bought the ticket at a local bank.

All proceeds go to the Dayton Chapter of PROJECT LINUS

Truly a work of love.

History of GM, Frigidaire, Delco Air, and Harrison Radiator

One of our members (Tom Roudebush) sent this to me.
Please join me in doing this.
Send it on to the White House.

It's something I definitely believe in and know for a fact this is happening.
Especially here. It's not only Spanish speaking people getting the jobs.

This country is becoming more of a melting pot.
Sue Our granddaughter in California was turned down for a teaching job.
Reason: She only had one year of Spanish.
She got a job at a private school. She now teaches in Rancho Cucomonga, second grade.

Sue had an interesting conversation with a lady of Hispanic origin last week.
She told me that she planned to come down to St. Mary's and get a job in Admissions
(where Sue works).

When Sue pointed out that we didn't have any openings,
The lady of Hispanic origin advised her that "soon"
current employees will have to be fired to hire bi-lingual employees.

According to this lady, the Spanish-speaking people of the US
are going to demand that all public facilities (like hospitals, courthouses, etc.)
be staffed by people who read, speak and comprehend Spanish.

We hear about the silent majority.
I think we are going to have to speak up or find ourselves a conquered country.
That would be an interesting historical note.
The greatest land in the world conquered by Mexico without ever firing a shot!

Think about it.
Please petition our political leaders to require citizenship to be eligible
for social services in the United States.
No amnesty and no free services for illegal immigrants.

An example of an e mail to send would be as follows:
I the undersigned below, agree that we need to keep English as our primary language
Those who live in our country need to learn ENGLISH.
We are not here to make the United States/American citizens conform to Spanish-speaking residents.

Instructions to sign are at the bottom.
PETITION FOR PRESIDENT BUSH
Governor Schwartzenegger
and Congressman Dana Rohrbacher
President of the USA    E mail addresses for the State of OHIO

We've got to keep at this.
We want every language to be available, but not all employees required to meet other's needs.
Webmasters comment: Welcome to diversity Folks.
American union says Liberal politicians from both parties have sold them out.
Here is their web site  Union Local 2544  These union members are fed up!

The Mexican military has been intruding into US sovereign borders.
There are reports that the Mexican military has fired on US border patrol agents with 50 caliber machine guns.
These rotten characters are providing cover for drug runners into our country and extra cheap labor!
This is modern day slavery!

Liberal politician, John McCain (Republican) prefers to ignore the matter.
The same may be said about his Liberal buddy from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy

American workers deserve a fair shake.
Tell your politicians to stop these criminals pouring over our borders.

These criminals will run down the wages of hard working Americans
It will only make things worse for the American family trying to make a living

Tell them no voting rights for these criminals or illegals.
The politicians are supposed to work for us, the American taxpayer!
Photos from our June 2006 meeting.    Have a great summer folks!

Shop chairman Mike Palmer visited our June meeting. Have a great summer folks!

As you can see, (from the photos below) we had a great turn out at our May 15, 2006 Meeting.
This very informative meeting was presented on our health care changes

Some of the subjects explained clearly were:

  • Who gets no cnanges to their health care contracts
  • How is your pension actually funded
  • What happens to survivng spouses under the new contract
  • Why is the catastrophic plan bad (Called TCN)
  • Changes coming in your co pays
  • The effective dates of each change chronologically given
  • Why you don't want to be on Medicare Part D
  • Much more was covered but this gives you an idea of what went on
Thanks to all of you who made it out.

For those who couldn't, we sure wish you had been here.
This meeting was especially valuable.

It is at these meetings where you express your concerns. You get the information you need.
Some of our members carpool to save on expenses.
They come to the meetings from outlying areas.

Fabulous mapping system from space. You can "plug in" an address
or just go in and move the satellite map around to suit yourself.
Notice the small area overview map in the bottom right corner

Here are some simple tips to get you started:

Click on the map or photo and hold your mouse button down
Now, move the photo to suit yourself.
Zoom in or out with the minus or plus buttons in the map.

Click on the Satellite tab to remove the overlay of the street names

Click on the Hybrid tab to replace the street names on an overlay.
Click on the Map tab to see a conventional Map.

Here is an example using the sugar sand Pere Marquette Beach
Located at Muskegon, MI
(a six hour drive from the Dayton area.)

They have 26 miles of public sugar sand beaches in Muskegon County.

Click on the minus button and watch the changes take place.
Do this one click on the minus button at a time. I think you will be amazed as I was.

This is a close up shot from the satellite
SOME GOOD INFORMATION FROM ONE OF OUR MEMBERS THAT REALLY WORKS
I just found this out and thought I'd pass this on.
It's very useful when trying to read small print (especially in the early hours).

Hold down the Ctrl key on your key board and then turn the small wheel in the middle of your mouse away from you or towards you. The print size will change. It will either get larger or smaller - depending on which way you turn the wheel

THE LAST AMERICAN MADE FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR
ROLLS OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE

The final Frigidaire refrigerator moving on the assembly line has been produced.

The Swedish manufacturer, Electrolux, is the owner of the American brand Frigidaire. They are Closing the Greenville, MI plant at a cost of $155.6 million.
The Juarez, Mexico plant cost $169.7 million. It employs 1,500 people.
The Juarez, Mexico operation is expected to have 3,000 workers by next year.

Workers there earn an hourly wage averaging $1.60 versus $15 in Greenville, MI.
No wonder they pour over our borders!

Last week, the Swedish manufacturer, Electrolux announced plans to close another refrigerator plant in Nuremburg, Germany. The firm also shut down its first vacuum cleaner plant to move to Eastern Europe for cheaper labor.
Good bye American and European jobs.

Welcome to the One world economy and maybe the one world government as well.

HEADS UP   SCAM ALERT

Scum bags are grabbing mail from residential mail boxes. If they find a check to someone in it that you mailed, they use a special kind of brake fluid on the check.
It will remove your written information from that check.

In short order, they are able to re write the info they wish and pass the check on.
Often this happens the same day.    Charming, eh wot?

Guess who gets stuck with the bill?

They also grab boxes of checks from your mailbox.
Your finances are soon gone into the crapper.
There is a real possibility of jail time for the innocent here.

It has happened and continues to occur around the country.

If you are over 62 years of age (or getting close) and have not filed for social security,
    please take notice:

The supplemental income you recieve on your retirement check
will stop a month or two before you become age 63
(whether you went on SS or not).

It may be necessary to make some plans and avoid getting caught
in a bind over the declining income that will occur.
Some of you may have seen Doctor Perricone on daytime television recently.
The research he has done (and the results demonstrated)
on patients who appeared at that time were nothing short of astounding.

I have been reading this book and find it very interesting in giving better control over our health.
If you are interested, the library may have a copy available. Book stores can get it for you.
It is based on food and how new research is able to make a huge difference in our lives.
The Perricone promise   New life for old bodies, even young ones will benefit.

PREDATORY LENDING PRACTICES
PRESENTATION GIVEN AT JANUARY 2005 RETIREES MEETING
THIS IS A VERY TROUBLING ISSUE THAT MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS
FOR ALMOST ANY ONE WHO IS UNPREPARED FOR THESE DEPLORABLE TACTICS

The presentation was made for us by a member of the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center
You may get more information by calling:   Phone (937) 222-9671
Click here:   DON'T RISK YOUR HOME

The presentation given to us was one of concern.
It could affect our spouses and families in an ugly way.

Ohio is the worst state in the US for these practices.
Out of all 88 counties in Ohio, Montgomery county has the worst track record of predatory lending.

Many of you have heard about the old bait and switch deals over the years.
Some of these folks are slick cookies using nasty skills to harm people.

We need to take a stand and complain intelligently, individually, to the right people.
Government leaders only pay attention when a groundswell of voters say enough!
If you wish to complain (and hopefully see a dramatic improvement) about this.
in our state Please E mail KENNETH BLACKWELL: SECRETARY OF STATE

Be brief, be clear in your request. Do not do it in haste. Think about what you want to say.
Review it and then send it. Please do not bombard with a rash of e mails from any one person.
They possibly could cause you problems under spamming conventions.

EYE SURGERY

LASIK VERSUS PRK CORRECTIVE EYE SURGERY

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF E MAILS THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST

    From: FRED-WEBMASTER@801 RETIREES GROUP To:

--@thinktv.org Subject: Lasik question
Date: Mon, 25 Oct 2004 19:48:03 EDT

Why did the US Armed forces outlaw Lasik vision surgery for their personnel?
Obviously they have most serious reservations by prohibiting its use.
What is the procedure they trust and use?

Thank you,
Fred

But, I spoke with Ann Case after the close of the show.

Thank you for your interest in Healthy Balance. We hope that you're enjoying the series.

-----@lcadotcom writes:

    Dear Fred,

Thank you for e-mailing a question last night.
I wish we would have had time to address your question on the air
as this is a very interesting question.

The US Armed Forces prefers the method of PRK (photorefractive keratectomy)
instead of Lasik for their patients.

During the PRK procedure the top layer of skin cells on the eye are removed.
After the laser reshapes the cornea, a soft bandage contact lens is placed over the eye
so that the skin cells can grow back.

With Lasik, a flap is made with the top layer of skin cells.
This flap is laid back while the laser re-shapes the cornea.
The flap is then re-positioned back into place.

Since this flap can become dislodged by a strong blow to the eye
or a strong pressure change, the US Armed Forces prefers the PRK method.

This is because some of their members may be in one of these types of situations.
The Lasik procedure is perfectly acceptable for the person who is not in the
US Armed Forces as most are not in these types of situations.

I hope that this answers your questions and once again thank you for the e-mail.

Ann Case

I would not be inclined to have Lasik after reading this.
Who knows what kind of a bump or accident might happen to someone who had this surgery

My opinion is that things could indeed become problematic at a later date.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable with the Lasik procedure.

THE GHOST OF DUKE'S HILL
AUTUMN HUMOR FROM A TIME GONE BY

POSTED WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 27, 2004

The following is a report to you by your webmaster.

The information below is a report of our political leaders voting records for or against our national interests. It is not pretty.
As you know, I am against giving up our national sovereignty !
Something is very wrong in our government. We, the people, need to speak up !
Is it any wonder that Mexican criminals have no fear of breaking our laws?
They have friends in high places in American government
These "friends" will give them "anything" they want.
Guess who will pay for it with ever higher taxes?

Why should we be surprised that Mexican criminals demand "their rights"
What are "their rights" They demand we take care of them !

We the people (the citizens and taxpayers of these great United States) are supposed to pay for everything these criminals want. Our politicians have no shame. They vote for increases in their pay, we are not allowed to vote on it. They have their own "generous" retirement that doesn't care what happens to social security for real Americans.
In my opinion, They are selling us out !

We vote for our political leaders to represent us. Then they "spit" in our faces.
The US Senate Strikes Again. Shocking Senatorial Votes
This link can be slow loading due to heavy traffic volume
Read this chilling US Government report and see the photos that confirm.
(if you have the stomach for it)
  • U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigations have revealed that aliens were smuggled from the Middle East to staging areas in Central and South America, before being smuggled illegally into the United States
  • Members of Hezbollah have already entered the United States across the Southwest border.
  • U.S. military and intelligence officials believe that Venezuela is emerging as a potential hub of terrorism in the Western Hemisphere. The Venezuelan government is issuing identity documents that could subsequently be used to obtain a U.S. visa and enter the country.
Are they going to be doing peaceful protests ? Get real!
NOTE: Please be advised that some of the material contained within the report is extremely graphic and violent in nature. This report shows that we have a long way to go before we can declare victory at our borders. That is why we need to get more citizens engaged in the border security battle!

After reading this report, please forward this update to 30 or 50 of your friends and family.

Urge them to get engaged on this issue by clicking on this link and signing the petition:
Thank you for continuing to carry the Border Security banner

Scroll down for more information about the shame of our politicians.
They are helping Mexicans and "poking their fingers in the eyes of American citizens"
Only in America !

Would you like to know which of your elected representatives voted against you?
Look at these 2 columns and get a grip on your chair.
These senators below voted against making English our official national language.
Perhaps they would have voted yes if it was to make Spanish our national language
After all folks, whose country is it anyway? Who are these folks representing? It's not us !
A famous American president made this remark public,
"Divided we fall, united we stand"
Our politicians are placing us on a destructive course in American history
Shall we see an end to the greatest nation on earth ? Stay tuned in
