1958 Cruise control introduced

1966 Camaro (for 1967) introduced
1969 Corvair bites the dust
- 1970
1971 GM designs and builds Lunar Roving Vehicle. Enables Apollo 15 astronauts to drive on the moon.
1972 Seat belts and shoulder harnesses standard on all GM cars
1973 First GMC motor home introduced
1979 Frigidaire:
Sold to White Consolidated Industries
Stage is set for Truck and Bus in Moraine

1980 Delco Air + Harrison Radiator merge
1987 Sunraycer (designed and built by GM) wins World Solar Challenge Race
1989 Pontiac Transport and Olds Silhouette vans introduced. Great fuel economy.

1993 NBC ran a fraudulent expose on GM vehicles.
The network made devices to make GM products burn in a crash test.
They apologized on air
(only after getting caught red handed).
In my opinion, the big liberal networks have had a bad habit of running down vehicles made by GM workers.
They are no friend of American labor.
1998 GM Delphi parts divisions announced to become a separate coporation.
IPO offered to stock market.
1998 General Motors and Isuzu Motors Ltd. form DMAX Ltd. Manufacturing 6.6-liter direct-injection diesel engines in Moraine

2002 Firebird and Camaro bites the dust
2004 Oldsmobile Alero bites the dust
(End of production)
The prestigious J. D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study declares GM has six of the top ten auto assembly plants.
GM receives 8 "Most Dependable" awards and places 18 vehicles in the top 3 of their respective market segments -- more than any other automaker.
